Pack & Smack It

by Bob "jigger" Mann
March 10, 2009

Well, we’ve all been to many boat and fishing shows all over place and we’ve talked our smack and told our stories of the one we netted and the one we lost. “Boy, if I had one more shot at that one. I would have won that tournament”. BS about the co-angler or bone-head partner that did a horrific net job. Darn live well broke down and the death of two 5lb bass left me under achieving my goal, I guess we should have turned the aerator on.

So, this year we bought new fishing line and the next generation of hooks, upgraded our rods and reels to the next best thing and hooks that are as sharp as a hot knife through butter. Boy I am ready to go!

We have every thing laid out in our basement or kitchen table, replaced hooks on crank baits, exchanging old tubes and worms with nice smelly and shiny new ones, stick baits in there slots and weights nicely divided up by size. Some of us even have our rods relined. (Don’t laugh you know your one of us). We are all beyond ready, with lots of time to wait. Come on April and walleye season!

As a year routine you have all your old stuff in a bag and without hesitation you throw it away. This year make a difference with what you are throwing away, “Pack and Smack It” just because it may have not been your lucky year with that old crank bait, or maybe you are just ready to replace the tubes, think about who else can maybe get some use out of it. Give it to Junior so he can divide it up and distribute to kids. You can’t even imagine how many kids and families that would enjoy the opportunity to go fishing that can’t or just aren’t sure what it is they need to even get started to have this experience. This time around think about your old rods, reels and tackle and more that you may be able to donate to make a difference in a families life. “Pack and Smack It” and send to your local fishing clubs or contact Junior.

Hi everyone, my name is Bob “jigger” Mann from Windsor, Ontario. Keep an eye on this web site and I will keep you up to date on Lake St Clair, Detroit River and St Clair River also providing tips on line, rods, reels and much more such as getting your boat and trailer ready for the season, but most importantly I am eager to hear the feedback from all the generous fishermen and fisherwomen that are looking to help another family create a happy moment. I can tell you this right now that I am always ready and willing to put that smile on the families that are just looking for a great time by the water.
